Following on from the 40th Anniversary Deluxe version of the Ramones’ debut, comes the expanded edition of the original punks’ 2nd album – another 30 minute opus of buzzsaw rock. Released in January 1977, it featured a clutch of Ramones’ classics including ‘Swallow My Pride,’ ‘Pinhead,’ ‘Suzy is a Headbanger,’ ‘California Sun’ (a hit for the Rivieras in the 60s) and of course the controversial ‘Carbona Not Glue’. Produced by Tony Bongiovi and Tommy Ramone, ‘Leave Home’ also featured the engineering talents of Ed Stasium, who would go on to work with the band over numerous other releases, and is on hand to compile this 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album.

At the time of the original recording there was a rush to complete the mixing, and the band and Stasium were never really thrilled with the final product. 40 years on, Stasium is on hand to rectify that mistake (and in a mirror of the celebrated new mono-mix in the Ramones expanded box) by doing a new 2017 stereo mix of the album. The new mix will be on the vinyl component of the box (and exclusive to this release on LP) and included on 1 of the 3 CDs. In addition the 3CDs will include a remaster of the original stereo mix, B-sides, alternate mixes, bonus tracks & unreleased material from the vault (including the whole set of initial mixes done at Sundragon Studios in NYC), plus a 3rd disc with a live show (taken from an audience tape) recorded at CBGBs in 1977. Again will echo Ramones#1 with the LP size hard bound book including photos and essays. Limited edition and individually numbered. Also echoing the Ramones’ 40th Anniversary editions, the slate of releases will include a 1CD in slipcase with stereo remaster of the original mix. A new stand-alone vinyl version of the ‘Leave Home’ LP, using the 2017 remastered stereo audio, to be issued later, along with a vinyl piece for RSD 2018.
